Are you feeling burned out from job search and want to increase your efficiency to maximize your energy?
I encourage networking because it’s so low-risk and so high impact. If it can make that large of a difference, DO IT.
Make sure to network when…
If a job has been posted for 8 days or has over 200 applications, don’t bother applying without having someone on the inside to champion your application. By this point, the first round of applicants is being considered and even though you may be qualified and interested, they may not see your application if they have enough candidates.
Make sure your resume is going to be seen.
Network before applying if you’re in these time constraints. It takes too long to apply and each day, your chances decrease.
