Use this to help clients take useful first steps without trying to solve the entire search at once.
☐ Gather separation, severance, benefits, final pay, and unemployment information.
☐ Save current resume, older resumes, performance reviews, job descriptions, and project notes.
☐ Write down possible target roles, industries, companies, work arrangements, and dealbreakers.
☐ Check LinkedIn basics: headline, contact info, recent role, location, and visibility settings.
☐ Identify 10 target companies that could be worth researching.
☐ List 10 safe contacts to reconnect with first.
☐ Collect 2 to 3 job postings that look interesting, even if they are not perfect matches.
☐ Prepare your resume, LinkedIn URL, questions, and target role ideas for coaching.
☐ Avoid panic-applying before your direction and materials are reasonably clear.
